Privacy Policy

Who we are

Walkabout is a walking-coverage app. Questions about privacy? Email matt@fauxvo.com.

What we collect and why

Account

When you sign in with Google, we receive your email address, a Google account identifier, and your basic profile (name). We use these only to create and identify your account.

Location

While you're recording a walk, the app collects your device's GPS location and stores it as the streets and coverage you've walked, tied to your account. This is the app's core function. We do not track your location in the background or when you aren't recording a walk.

How your data is stored

Your account and walk data are stored on Cloudflare infrastructure (its D1 database, R2 object storage, and KV) within Cloudflare's network. Access is scoped to your account.

Map data

Street geometry and city boundaries come from OpenStreetMap (via the Overpass and Nominatim services). The app queries these services for map data; your personal data is not sent to them.

What we don't do

No advertising. No selling or sharing of your personal data. No third-party analytics or tracking.

Retention and deletion

We keep your data until you delete your account. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time — see Account deletion.

Your choices

You can request access to, or deletion of, your data by emailing matt@fauxvo.com.

Children

Walkabout is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.

Changes
